I've been making my Quickemu project macOS-compatible; meaning it can run on a macOS host 🍎
Quickemu is a project to quickly create and run optimised Linux, macOS and Windows virtual machines 👍
Here's my test case in action:
This is NixOS ❄️ running a virtual machine of macOS Ventura 🍏 via Quickemu, which is running a virtual machine of Aline Linux 🐧 via Quickemu #linux#qemu
Preinstalled even though Virtual Box is not installed. It seems easy enough to uninstall, as nothing seems to depend on it. But it does beg the question of why it is included.
What do you use to back up local files from Linux to external hard drive?
I have been using rsnapshot, but maybe there are better solutions out there?
Does anyone have an experience with btrfs and snapshots? Do you trust it?
A new project to resume development on the formerly open-source Redis project. This project was forked from the open source Redis project right before the transition to their new source available licenses. https://github.com/valkey-io/valkey Linux Foundation is behind this project. #opensource#unix#linux
In lots of #linux distro reviews people dedicate some amount of time to wallpapers... like it is a vital part of an OS.... For god's sake, how many of you use default wallpapers and not downloading/setting up your fav custom one? 😅 Why not use that time for really important features instead? 🥺
