15 years with Drupal! That's a long time in years...

I'm one of the few nuts that's still hosting a personal blog on Drupal! (On Drupal 10 as of this week)

@geerlingguy co-🥥 working on the v10 stuff. I'm finally integrating git and deployment into my "workflow". I got one mistake spun up last weekend, but I'm one step closer.

@geerlingguy

Why use Drupal for a personal blog instead of say a bunch of text files?

I assume you're the only one reading it too.

Curious to know why, or is it "just because I can" ?

@mackaj The blog has a pretty significant readership—been around in one form or another since 2004 and I get a few thousand visitors from Google/DDG/Bing every hour.

It has a ton of comments too (and I'm loathe to give up easy on-site commenting with no account required, so that rules out a lot of hacks for SSG sites).

@geerlingguy For someone like me who doesn't know Drupal, what made you chose Drupal instead of WordPress 15 years ago and what makes you stick with it?
