I'm sure this will lead to a flood of quality content on Reddit. More seriously paying people to make content for your social media site while you sell information about them to advertisers is an interesting business model, to say the least.
Given how Reddit has responded to the whole API, community-mods, etc. fiasco, I felt like they're doing some of the more effective things in not only destroying their communities but also their IPO valuation....
Kill off Old Reddit and force everyone to use the redesigned site. Lock as many useful features behind Reddit Premium as possible. Take a page from Tumblr and ban NSFW content to be more friendly to advertisers. Those are just a few things off the top of my head. Maybe do something with crypto and NFTs. People love that.
I realized I interacted / posted / commented less and less on reddit these last couple of years. Couldn't even tell you why exactly. Now I've been here for a week and, I don't know, I just like interacting again... Hope it stays like this for a while :)
Yeah, mostly just lurked on Reddit, but here I feel a lot more comfortable engaging with the stuff that gets posted. Since the communities are so much smaller it feels like leaving a comment actually means something instead of just getting drowned out in the noise.
