The transient nature of this sort of image is one aspect that I really appreciate. Someone on foot, in a car, on a bike will run over it. Or the Sun will come to melt it. Regardless it will only be there for a short time. Ephemeral beauty has an urgency and immediacy to it.

Indeed 10-20 years ago the 'fake cheese' that was available had no lasting appeal. However, a taco shop near me has a vegan cheese from Mexico. And DANG!, it's super tasty and the texture is right. And the shops prices are very reasonable.

Reddit became a significant time sink for me. I'd already backed away from FB and IG. Kbin seems a better fit for me, and it's a customizable fit. Yay!

I'm on Kbin, and feel that this shift is a majorly positive one for me both in short and hopefully in long term. I had two accounts, and one became a much more active than the other over the course of about 12 years. I dl'd my content, erased it, and left without looking back. I've used the more obscure acct to check on things a few times, but really don't have time for that. Onward! We've got a Fediverse to build!

I somehow ended up as the sole moderator for r/Corfu. It's a VERY slow subreddit. I'm not sure if I should ignore it, or if there's something I can do with the tiny lever of 'power'.

I'm not so sure for PBM, as it's not really a physics thing so much as a therapeutic modality. Do you think it would appeal to physics nerds? I mean, it's amazingly cool that different colors of light applied to the body can have so many varied beneficial effects. And of course a wide range of people would be super interested in that, right?

DownloadedDeleted both my 12+ year old accts. Moved to Kbin / Lemmy / Mastodon - I'll settle into a rhythm with the new one. And yeah, Reddit had gotten addictive for me, so it's best I move on anyway. Yay Open Source!!
