How can I sync only one bookmarks folder across Firefox profiles and accounts, with their smart keywords? (kbin.fedi.cr) en

If you don’t know about smart keywords, basically you can set phrases as shortcuts for specific bookmarks. I want a folder with all of my keywords synced, and that folder only. On each profile or account I have have whatever other folders and the placement of the folder with the keywords doesn’t matter as long as they have...

Shouldn't browsers protect what users write from being seen by the website (like customer support chats) before hitting send? Would it be difficult to implement? (kbin.fedi.cr) en

I’m sure its common knowledge by now that whatever you write in text boxes on customer support chats can be seen by whoever is on the other side, without or before hitting send. Don’t you think that’s a breach of privacy?! I imagine it isn’t too difficult to implement a fix for it: The browser (like Firefox) could choose...

"We are moving away from native widgets, and the ability to disable non-native widgets will be removed as well" What are your thoughts on this? (bugzilla.mozilla.org) en

I really don’t like the psuedo-native look of the element dropdown menu on macOS, and I thought Firefox was trying to embrace native widgets when they added support for macOS right click context menus a few years ago. That issue was open for 20+ years! This sucks....

If you exclusively use vertical tabs (either with CSS or another way), how is it? Did you miss horizontal tabs at all? (kbin.fedi.cr) en

I’m trying to switch to Floorp right now from Firefox, where I have both the regular horizontal tabs, and a flat vertical list with the Tree Style Tab extension. I use the later a lot, and while I could keep this setup in Floorp, I like that the vertical tabs can be native instead of using TST. However, it just feels weird to...

Is there a way to disable asking where to save downloads? (kbin.fedi.cr) en

I know I could use an addon like RunWith to download files to the Downloads folder without it asking where to save them, but I want files downloaded through Firefox the official way. I have “Always ask where to save files” unchecked in settings, but that doesn’t do anything.

Why do I always have an infinite loop for CloudFlare "Checking if the site connection is secure" verification when I don't have the page open in a container? (lemmy.world) en

Edit: I figured it out. It was caused by the User-Agent Switcher and Manager addon, I use it to switch user agents on one site. I switched it to whitelist mode in the settings and now it works....

How well has Tab Session Manager worked for you? I really need an alternative to it, What are good alternatives? (lemmy.world) en

Personally, while I’ve been using Tab Session Manager for years, I’ve had lots of issues with it. There have been a few times where all my sessions would be completely wiped after restarting Firefox or having it crash, which is why I have the backup folder setting enabled. Very occasionally within the past few years, but...
