UBlock Origin on Android in FF is a killer feature for the app! It’s been such a blessing browsing what are usually ad-infested mobile blogs and sites. Adding ghostery to the mix is just :chefs-kiss:
How do web crawlers such as googlebot (and for othe, lesser known search engines) fit into that?
Does it mean this API can be discriminating to starting search engine companies?
David (primary author) seems a great guy and works pretty diligently on this.
It worked well enough as a test instance for me a bit ago. I guess I could stand it up again and see just where it’s at now. Gramps, for me, is still by far the best family tree software assuming you don’t want anything cloud related.
EDIT: I've added a link to that page in the part of the insecure "Getting Started" that says "this is insecure don't do it this way". Hopefully that helps people in the right direction a bit more - but I have a long road of more documentation ahead of me.
As always - any and all contributions are welcome :)
Not to steal your thunder but the wefwef web app does this also, you just paste in your profile’s multireddit url and then it gives you a clickable list and each click searches Lemmy for all similar communities and then you can sub to any that you want.
Didn’t know that haha. My script does the same thing pretty much. Just automatically if that maybe is worth something. And I’m not after thunder, I made this mainly for myself (and to train coding) and if someone else finds it useful that’s great
It would need to be edited a bit, but overall it should. The main issue I think are the selectors for the login fields on kbin. Might try to implement it when I get some more time
Not normal. Haven’t seen that one, yet either. Do you know how to redirect the output to a file and send that to me? (make sure to delete your login data before you do). If you don’t know, let me know and also tell me what operating system you’re using
I’m sorry, I had this idea a while ago but didn’t get around to doing it. I knew if I started it would take up most of my time (which it did) and I couldn’t afford that until now
omg you do not need to explain. :) I'm sure that comment was intended as appreciation for your good work. just joking about how hard it was bad in the old days and kids these days have it so easy.
Also, you can just copy “-reddit” (the parts in between the quotes) and append it to any search (with every search engine I tested) to have reddit results removed. You could just have it in a text file easily accessible or make a macro or an autohotkey to do it if you don’t want to copy and paste every time.
