The fact that they have 100% satisfaction makes me think other gender-affirming surgeries and procedures which have less than 100% satisfaction are actually suffering from inadequate development of the technology, rather than some kind of fundamental regret.

Advance the technology further and we’ll likely see all rates of regret drop to 0

The idea that Reddit is staging some nefarious conspiracy to "poison" fediverse spaces ... is losing the whole plot.

OP's straight up writing fanfiction trying to cast a site they just left as villains in some swashbuckling coming-of-age story. It's a nine-hour-old account, and they're already embracing the Us vs Them mentality and trying to sell it with prose.

I don't know how OP managed to pick fights within a couple hours of signing up for their account, but I'd suggest that if they left Reddit for "toxicity" only to immediately find it here too ... maybe they're carrying it around with them?

Not that I ascribe any sort of reddit awareness to Huffman but even then it’s a new level of not understanding his own product. Twitter had oodles of celebrities, politicians, journalists, activists, government accounts, companies and so on and the verification was important before musk ruined it. I’m not sure reddit has actual entities of public life that regularly post. I’ve seen a stray Arnold Schwarzenegger mentioned somewhere and I think a YouTube video about tenacious D responding to fans but that’s it. Who on earth needs verification on reddit as a user?

You’re right when you say this is for people who migrated from reddit, but someone creating an account only a few hours ago because they’re mad for being banned from reddit for something that has nothing to do with migration, can be really considered “migrating”?

I mean, “WTF reddit why you banned i didnt nothing”, does sound to you like someone being here because they want to quit reddit?

It's really so sad and frustrating for those under the age of 45. Millennials were raised during a time of prosperity and possibilities, only to find out it was all a sham by the selfish, stupid and mostly older generations. Now Millennials, Gen Z and Gen A will reap the outcomes of all that while those who caused it will die off before things get even worse. I harbor no resent towards Gen X, but their refusal to fight the tide certainly didn't help.

reddit must have sent out a "remove the NSFW or we remove you" to all the subs that are still set to NSFW. I saw the same story for PICS and even the cyberpunkgame sub

This is why everything you hear from pop-evolution theories in sociology is likely bs.

“Women like shopping because they used to be gatherers” or other such garbage.

It’s all trying to simplify human behaviour based on half-baked knowledge of the past, and to pass it off as scientific insight. It’s not much different than the pseudoscience used to fuel racism 100 years ago.

Human behaviour is complex. And even though our societies are more complex now than 10000 years ago, it doesn’t mean people back then were simple.

What's goes around, comes around... That sentiment is not coming from a no where. Note how people didn't say similar staff about refugee boat sinking and actually calling media out for lopsided coverage.

These views only get more extreme as social fabric and economic conditions of the working people degrade.
