After trying as many suggestions as I could, it seems the one that did the trick was replacing the thermistor entirely. Seems I must have broken it somehow, though the glass bulb and wires were still intact from what I could tell.

Scientists Invent New Glass With Supreme Toughness (scitechdaily.com) en

Scientists have produced an oxide glass with unprecedented toughness. Under high pressures and temperatures, they succeeded in paracrystallizing an aluminosilicate glass: The resulting crystal-like structures cause the glass to withstand very high stresses and are retained under ambient conditions.

I'm pretty impressed this occurred so quickly, I wonder if it was bots at all.

Look at the serif on that F, dang.

Maybe something could be organized on pixelcanvas.io?

I think kbin and Threads will probably have more interaction than Threads and Lemmy because of the native microblogging support in kbin. That puts them more or less on the same field.

I do love a good bowl of cinnamon toast crunch.

The developer of Pixelfed, @dansup, is working on a kbin app as well.

It only doesn't count as an upvote as far as reputation is concerned, upvotes are still upvotes in determining post ranking.

Yes, the intent is to encourage reading comments before commenting.

Could always make your own instance or choose a smaller one and sign up with a short handle there 😉

I don't think I've said it a single time yet. Fuck Spez!

Is it supposed to shut down as well? The devs might just be waiting till the last moment to revoke the API key if it is.

Is it still working?

Reddit feels like it's gone back to 100% normalcy already. Was the protest a failure? (beehaw.org) en

I was looking at reddit today, and the front-page felt like nothing happened. I scrolled and scrolled and scrolled and clicked into comments. Everything is popping off buzzing with activity. All the subreddits I was subscribed to that went dark are now back up and business as usual....

atocci,
@atocci@kbin.social avatar

Just one important distinction: not a quarter of all subreddits, but a quarter of the subreddits that said they would go private for at least 2 days are still private.

atocci,
@atocci@kbin.social avatar

Ah, Reddark is only tracking subreddits that said they were participating, the ones that listed themselves in the Modcoord threads. There are far more subreddits that exist than the 8,829 they're tracking.

@atocci@kbin.social avatar

That would be against the terms of service for using the API and a surefire way to get your app removed from whatever storefront you have it listed on as soon as Reddit complains.

It's the number of users logging in and hitting those servers that's the main issue. 44,000 users is a lot for one instance to be pushing content to. I wouldn't say it's just aggregating Lemmy content either though, there are plenty of popular communities on kbin as well, including this one.
